So many distractions clamor for our attention. Many of them are good things: children, spouses, ministry, friends, work, shopping, laundry, meal prep, and housework. Other things, like social media and Netflix also cry out for our coveted time. Our hearts and minds find themselves in a perpetual rat race of chaos with God squeezed in at a quick mealtime prayer. We may sit down to read His Word but battle the onslaught of the dreaded "to do" list in our minds. I want more. I want to dig deeper. I want my thirsty soul to drink up the satisfying refreshment of Scripture. Amidst the chaos, I want to retreat into sweet communion with my Abba Father. I want to grow in my knowledge of Him so when trials come, I can trust. I want to know His names. I want to marvel in His power and majesty. I want to rest in His care and comfort.
